Party In The USA

"My name is Sara - And I am a "pop-music" aholic"; and it appears that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. This week I discovered that you like cheesy pop music just like your mommy. As you grow up, you may have to try to hide it by buying pop magazines for your younger sibling (hopefully you get one:) but secretly wanting them for yourself. It's OK...mommy will understand how you feel and can help you navigate through hiding your love for teeny bopper music.

So you are a HUGE Miley Cyrus fan. Last Wednesday, while Jen was still out of town, I was looking for a new way to entertain you while I was working. I decided to put on some music videos from youtube. I looked up the billboard top 100 and started playing some of the song. You did a little dancing to a couple...and then I put on "Party In The USA". You were hooked. You danced like crazy so I got out of my chair and joined you. I had to close the blinds so the neighbors couldn't see :) At the end of the song you stood in front of the computer and told me "again" in sign language. I think you again'd me at least 5 times.

I told Jen about it, and so we decided to try again this Saturday. Jen was not disappointed. Here is some video proof. Notice you say "again" half way through the song.

Pretend Video is here - trouble uploading.. will add.

I need to add one other quick thing to this post. So yesterday you made mommy cry..happy tears. You say "Ma Ma" a lot, but it never really seems like you are asking for me, or referring to me. I just thought it was a sound you liked to make. Well yesterday all of that changed. You were playing quietly in my office while I worked, you had opened my purse and taken out my wallet. All of the sudden I noticed you were saying "Mama" over and over. I turned around and saw that you were holding my drivers license and looking at my picture. I immediately started to cry. You know that I am your Mama :) You are such a blessing.

Here are a couple other cute pictures of you from this past week. You play on mommy's bed a lot while I am working. In the first pic, you were reading to your dollies. You did it for a long time and were being so cute.. I had to take some pictures.

Love you soooo much. Mama

When Jen's Away - Mommy & Madi Will Play

So, as much as I love having Jen help watch you while I work, nothing beat hanging out with you all day by myself. Jen is gone to Florida for a week - so we are on our own. You and I have been having a blast.

Each day has been a little bit different, but we had so much fun today, I had to make sure I captured it.

We woke up around 7:30. I came and got you from your crib and put you in bed with me. We brought your dolly and the three of us snuggled and watched the Today Show. I left you in bed for a bit, and went a did a few emails.

Next was breakfast. You had your favorite, Honey Nut Cheerios and a banana. You sat in your highchair right next to Mommy's desk. I worked while you ate and talked for about 30 mins.

After breakfast you went back and forth between your room and mine finding different things to play with. One time you found your toy box that has shapes you have to drop in. You brought it to me and the just turned around and sat on my lap so I could help you. I put all of the pieces on the floor and then one-by-one you picked them up and tried to push them in the right slot. With a little help from Mommy you got it done 2 times.

When we first opened the box to empty all of the shapes, we found a little plastic toy fishy that Daddy got you a few weeks before. You picked it up and very clearly said "fishy". It was the first time I had heard that word. I swear you are saying a new one every day at this point.

We tried a nap around 10:30, but for some reason, you just didn't want to go down today. You played in there for about an hour before I got you out of bed. I guess you wanted to play with me some more. So you came back into my office/bedroom and played with your toys. You found one of your books and wanted to read it. You went over to the side of my bed and started saying "up". So I put you up on my bed and put your dolly's next to you. You started to read the book to them. The book you were reading has a scratch and sniff page...you did it all on your own. I was so impressed. Normally I have to put it up to your nose :)

I thought it was so cute how you played with your dollies...so I decided to get all of your dollies and we could play "mommy" with them. You and I put them in your chair and put a blanket over them. We tucked all four dollies in and kissed them. You told them "ni ni" :) You wanted to sit in the chair too...so you just sat on them. It didn't look too comfortable, so I went and got some baby blankets from your room. We made the dollies a bed on the floor. You tucked them in and kissed them all good night. You played with the dolls for about an hour.

Then you had a bath. It is nice because I can see you from my desk while you play in there. I worked and you played in the tub for about 20 mins. Then you kept trying to climb out. I kept telling you to sit down, but you wouldn't. I finally gave in and came to get you....that is when I discovered why you wanted out. Poop all over the place :) Nice.

I cleaned you off, gave you some lunch and then let you play and destroy my office for about another hour.

You are back down for your nap now and I miss you. You have started blowing me kisses when I put you to bed. It is so sweet. It makes me want to get you right back out and cuddle you. You are just the sweetest most loving little baby girl.

Thanks for a fun day. Love you forever. Mama

SHUSH

I'm not sure how I forgot...but your real favorite word is "shoes" you say it so cute...it sounds like shush. You love to put on shoes, and bring them to me to put on all the time.

Little Singer

Last night we went to Darrell's house to watch American Idol. We have to take the freeway there, and it is a long bumpy ride. The bumping makes your voice vibrate ....therefore....you sang the whole way there. For 15 minutes you sang and the top of your lungs to hear you voice vibrate. Your face is soooo serious while you are doing it. You stared out the window and sang your heart out. All we can see if your two cute bottom teeth. Daddy and I couldnt stop laughing. When you got a little bored of it, Daddy or I would sign with you and it would pop you right back into action. It was so much fun.

I think the best and craziest part for me is that you started doing it on your own. It is weird for you to start having a mind of your own, making your own decisions. You are becoming a little person who wants to do her own thing when she wants to. Below are a few candid shots of you doing just that :) Watching TV, messing with Mommy's computer, and climbing (then standing and balancing) on Daddy's chair.

The past couple of weeks have been pretty uneventful...which is good for a change. We have gone out a few times looking at houses, taken you to gymnastics and swimming lessons and hung out at home. We did venture out to the Library for the first time as a family (well..first time checking out books...last time we went to see Rockea read to kids). Anyway, let's just say that you really didn't understand the whole "quiet in the library" concept. You loved it in there, and wanted everyone to know it. You refused to sit still and let Mommy read to you. You just wanted to run around laughing and singing...VERY loud. So our trip was kind of short.

We checked out a couple of books that we read every day. You love when we read to you. Daddy can't read kids books without doing a funny voice. You really enjoy it though.

Last Friday night you had your first slumber party. Alex, Mary and Sammy came over. We built a tent in the living room and watched Annie and Sponge Bob. Sammy went home after dinner, and the bigger girls stayed over. You guys ate tons of candy and had donuts after your swimming lessons Saturday morning. So fun.

Bathtime fun - nice hair :)

I have been trying to compile all fo the words you aer saying now. I know this isn't all of them...but here is my list:

Ni Night
Bert
Fer Fer
Book
Up
Thank you (tan ta)
Dog
Mama
Meow
Woof
Jump
Banana (na na)

In case this isn't captured anywhere.. your first word was dog...both in sign language and verbally.

Love you to much. Until next time xoxoxoxox Mama
