First Day Of Your Blog

Well Madison, Mommy is really late starting this blog. I just finally realized that you do way to many cute things everyday, and there is just no way I am going to remember them all. I am going to do my best to write in this journal at least once a week.

There is no way to summarize how much the first 10 months of your life have enriched mine. You are by far the most perfect, special gift I have ever been given. You have been a pleasant, easy baby right from the start. I think that Heavenly Father must have known that this was the only way Mommy & Daddy woudl make it. I sure hope that if you have a sister or brother, they come out the same way.

You are now 10 months 15 days old. You LOVE to sing and dance. You have one tooth and one on its way (your two bottom teeth). You are just learning to crawl, and get around doing the army crawl. Before now, you were the queen or rolling to your destination, even though you got a late start rolling over.

Just last night, you surprised us by crawling all the way down the hallway and then opening the door to the office where your daddy was changing. I was laying on the couch watching TV...and I thought you were laying on the floor playing next to me. All of the sudden I heard Daddy say "What are you doing in here?". I looked down the hallway and there you were, opening the door. We were shocked. You had never traveled that far through the house on your own. Time to buy a baby gate.

Today you had another first. When I went to get you from your morning nap (you take 2 nice 2 hour naps at this point) you were standnig up holding on to the railings of your crib. You have never gotten yourself up like that before. Which means, time to lower the crib again.

My sweet baby girl is growing up so fast. It is a real internal struggle for me because I can't wait to see who you grow up to be or how cute of a toddler you will be...but I want you to stay my baby forever. I never want you to get married...go to college in another state...or ever leave my side.

I hope this blog helps us both remember this very special time in our lives.

Here are are couple quick thoughts from the past 10 months that I don't want to forget:
- You started making the cutest face a couple of weeks ago. You scrunch up your nose and mouth and breath in and out really heavy. Almost like you were going to make a piggy noise. I took you to the grocery store the day you started doing it (non-stop that whole day) and you did it to some lady walking by us in the aisle. She thought it was so cute she had to go get her husband to show him. He came over...and you did it again for him.. right on queue.
- You LOVE to sing. I recently bought you a microphone. I sing into it and then pass it to you and you start singing. So cute that you know what to do.
- You have had many nanny's, but by far your favorite was Jake. He took such great care of you, and you love him still when he comes to visit. He took you on tons of walks, and fed you your first baby food (carrots).
- You used to only nap in your swing. Suzie finally forced me to start making you nap in your crib (about 5 months old). then it took me another 3 months before I would let you sleep in there at night. I loved having you slppe next to me, and half way through the night feeding you and letting you sleep in bed with me.
- I almost smothered you on your first camping trip :( We went to fish lake (3 hrs south of Salt Lake). It was rainy and cold so I had you sleep in my sleeping bag verses your playpen. I woke up at least every 30 min because I was scared you were going to be smothered...and one time you almost were. You were way down in the bag. I had a terrible time going back to sleep.
- When you were first born...Mommy was SOOOO tired. You and I ended up sleeping out in the living room a lot because you liked sleeping in your vibrating chair. So I would put you in your chair on the coffee table, and I would sleep on the couch next to you. We did that for many a month on and off :)
- What I hear from other people about you all the time: You HUGE beautiful blue eyes, your super duper long eyelashes, your adorable chunky thighs, she's such a happy baby, "does she have red hair?" (we have no idea what color it will be).
- Trips you've been on so far: California (airplane, 2 mos.), Fish Lake (camping, 7 mos), Unita's (camping 9 mos), Nova Scotia (airplane, 9 mos), Bear Lake (Uncle Gary Cabin, 10 mos)
- Events you've attended: Utah Jazz Game (6 mos) (had to buy baby ear plugs...you kept everyone around you entertained), Indigo Girls Concert (8 mos), Buzz Baseball games (2 times)
Ok...so there are a million more memories...but I need to end this post. I will jsut have to add stuff as I go.

I love you so much Madison. Thank you for coming into my life. Love you, Mommy xoxo

Here are a few if your first pics. Welcome to the world my sweet baby girl.
